Create a team
Open settings and choose Create team. Provide:
- A team name.
- A short name used as the issue prefix.
- A status preset.
- A label preset.
The Basic status preset creates Backlog, To do, In progress and Done. The Developer flow adds Backlog, Ready, In development, In review, QA and Done. Choose Blank only when you intend to build the complete workflow before creating issues.
The Starter label preset creates Bug, Feature, Improvement, Design and Maintenance. Labels can be renamed or removed later.
The short name uses one to seven uppercase letters or numbers and must be unique in the workspace. It cannot be changed after creation because it is part of every issue ID.
Join a team
Workspace members can browse teams they have not joined from the Other teams section in the sidebar. Open a team board and choose Join this team on the top right of the board, or use the membership control in team settings.
Joining makes you a team member and allows issues from that team to be assigned to you.
Add or remove team members
In Settings → Teams → [team] → Members, search the active workspace members and add them to the team.
When removing somebody who has assigned issues, choose whether to:
- Unassign those issues.
- Reassign them to another member of the same team.
Removing somebody from a team does not remove them from the workspace. They can continue using other teams and may rejoin this team later.
Leave a team
Use Leave team in team settings. If you own issues in the team, Limin asks how they should be reassigned or unassigned before completing the change.
Leaving a team does not remove your workspace access.
Rename or delete a team
The team name can be changed from team settings. Its issue prefix remains fixed.
Deleting a team permanently deletes the team and all its issues. This is different from leaving it and cannot be undone from the interface. Review the confirmation carefully before proceeding.
To shape the team after creation, see Statuses, labels and automatic archiving.
