Create an issue

Choose New issue from the workspace sidebar or the [+] icon from a status column. Creating from a column preselects that status.

An issue requires a title, team, status and priority. While creating it, you can also provide:

• A Markdown-like description.
• An assignee from the selected team.
• One or more labels.

Turn on Create more if you are entering several issues in succession. Press Control/Command + Enter to submit the dialog from the keyboard.

If the workspace has no teams, Limin directs you to create one first. If the selected team has no statuses, create a workflow from team settings before adding issues.

Create an issue from a related issue

To create a new issue from an existing one:

• From the existing issue, next to relations, select [+ Add] and choose the relation, then select Create new issue from the action menu.
• From the board, right-click the existing issue and choose Add relation from the context menu, then follow the same steps.

You cannot directly add a relation from the create issue form.

Edit issue properties

Open an issue by selecting its card or row. Changes to the description and resolution notes save as you work. Use the property tags near the top of the issue to change its:

• Status
• Priority: Low, Medium, High or Urgent
• Assignee
• Labels
• Blocking relationships

You can also right-click an issue card or row to update these properties without leaving the board. On touch devices, press and hold the row to open the same menu.

Assign an issue

Only members of the issue’s team appear in its assignee picker. Join the team first if you need to assign an issue to yourself.

An issue can have one assignee or remain unassigned. If somebody leaves a team or loses workspace access, Limin asks how their assigned issues should be handled where applicable. The issues can be unassigned or reassigned to another team member.

Copy an issue link or Git branch name

The issue action menu includes Copy issue link and Copy git branch. The board context menu exposes the same actions.

Use the issue link when sharing work with another workspace member. The generated branch name is a convenient starting point for connecting a code branch to the issue even though Limin does not yet provide a GitHub integration.

Live editing

Issue changes are synchronised in real time. Teammates viewing the board or issue will see updates without refreshing. This includes related issues and issue mentions in the text fields.

If a connection problem prevents an operation from completing, Limin displays a banner. Retry or refresh before repeating a destructive action.
